Print Marketing Portfolio

While my marketing roles have primarily focused on digital media, I’ve also lent my copywriting and editing skills to crafting compelling verbiage for various traditional and print marketing assets. From fliers, facility signage, and catalogs to radio ad scripts, press releases, direct mail, billboards, and even bus ads, I’ve written copy designed to capture interest and spark action.

Whether collaborating with graphic designers to enhance messaging through visuals or partnering with directors to develop full-funnel, multi-channel campaigns, I approach every piece of collateral with strategic intent and brand voice in mind. I’m especially proud to have contributed to an award-winning integrated leisure marketing campaign and an award-nominated visitors guide for Visit Bloomington, leveraging aspirational copy to build brand interest, generate tourism leads, and ultimately bolster the area's economy by highlighting small businesses, regional attractions, and local culture.

Bloomington Visitors Guide

Visit Bloomington's annual visitors guide serves as an aspirational and informational tool to attract travelers and assist in trip planning. I led copywriting and editing efforts for the 2022 guide, which was nominated for Best Visitors Guide at the 2023 Indiana Tourism Association conference.

 

I authored 10 editorial features for the booklet and edited all copy from cover to cover. I also shot original photography to accompany the features and collaborated with the graphic designer to ensure all visual components aligned with brand messaging and feel.

 

The guide was distributed across the Indiana University Bloomington campus and to local hotels, businesses, 

and statewide and regional rest stops. It was also mailed to thousands of households throughout the country upon request.

Member Donation Appeal Letter

Twice a year, the Y sends a donation appeal letter to its members to raise awareness of and money for its Y for All Scholarship Fund. This letter leverages the organization's community spirit, real-world results from previous annual campaigns, and emotional storytelling to persuade members to invest in the community's health by donating. I wrote the copy based on touchpoints the development team wanted to hit, then led editing efforts through multiple rounds of proofing based on feedback and additions.

Summer Camp Catalog

To help families plan their child's summer, the Y publishes a summer camp catalog each year. Using information provided by camp leadership, I led copywriting and editing efforts cover to cover through five rounds of proofing. Content includes program descriptions, FAQs, logistical details, and more. The catalog lives on the Y's website, which families are directed to in social posts and emails, as a guide for determining the programs they want to register their kids for throughout the summer. The 2025 catalog accrued over 1,600 views and nearly 100 downloads in the three months following publication.
